The Beautorium Training Academy ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre & Media Make-Up is an exciting, hands-on professional qualification designed for those who want to work in fashion, editorial, bridal, television, theatre, film and special effects make-up.
Delivered part-time from September to May, this course combines creative artistry with real industry skills, giving students the opportunity to develop confidence across multiple makeup disciplines, build a professional portfolio and train with experienced working professionals.
Unlike many makeup courses that focus only on beauty looks, this programme covers a broad range of advanced techniques including fashion and editorial makeup, theatrical and character makeup, period looks, special effects, prosthetics, body painting, airbrushing, transformation for stage and screen, ageing techniques and creative media makeup.
Students will also gain complementary skills in creative hairstyling, wig styling, lash application, brow shaping, Nail extenaion and Nail art, social media content creation, portfolio building and backstage techniques, helping them become more versatile, employable and industry-ready makeup artists.
Training is led by experienced MUA educator and SFX artist Joanne Quinn Geoghegan, alongside guest tutors who are recognised industry professionals working across fashion, film, theatre, prosthetics, body painting, hairstyling and creative makeup. This ensures students benefit from both strong technical foundations and current industry knowledge.
Throughout the course, students will build a professional portfolio featuring a wide variety of makeup styles and creative looks. Learners may also have opportunities to work with photographers on professional photoshoots, take part in fashion events, creative projects, charity shows and showcase opportunities, helping to create final images suitable for social media, portfolios, freelance work and future employment opportunities.
Students will also have the opportunity to build valuable industry connections through guest tutors, photographers, fashion events, creative collaborations and networking opportunities, helping them gain experience, build confidence and create pathways into freelance and professional work.
