Beautorium Training Academy is a multi-award-winning, ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) and AIT (Associated Irish Beauty Therapists) approved and accredited training academy, based in Riverwalk, Waterford City. We also deliver selected courses in Kilkenny City.

Under the guidance of Founding Director Joanne Quinn-Geoghegan, Beautorium offers training from beginner through to advanced level, including structured progression pathways for learners wishing to develop careers in professional beauty, skin, laser and aesthetics. Alongside our scheduled courses, workshops and masterclasses, we provide one-to-one consultancy and business mentoring, webinars, educator and IQA development and professional development for therapists, educators and beauty business owners.
Beautorium is also a preferred training provider for businesses and organisations, developing bespoke corporate training for salons, spas, hotels, clinics and professional teams throughout Ireland. Programmes can be tailored around individual business requirements and may include technical treatment training, skincare education, consultation and client experience, professional practice, team development and other specialist industry training.
Our approach to education is practical, personalised and learner-focused, with an emphasis on small-group training, professional standards and developing genuine industry confidence and competence. Our commitment to our learners extends beyond the classroom, with ongoing support, guidance and progression opportunities available throughout their professional journey.
Funding and grant support may be available on selected programmes for eligible learners through industry and government-supported training initiatives. Beautorium Training Academy works with organisations including Image Skillnet and other training and employment-support bodies to help make professional education more accessible.

Joanne Quinn-Geoghegan
Joanne Quinn-Geoghegan is the Founder and Managing Director of Beautorium Training Academy, Director of Waterford Skin & Laser Clinic and Lead Educator within the academy. With more than 20 years' experience across the beauty, skincare and education sectors, Joanne works as a teacher, trainer, assessor, Internal Quality Assurer and External Authenticator, alongside her work as a business mentor, consultant and practising skin and laser professional.
Joanne began her career in 2004 after completing internationally recognised ITEC, CIBTAC and CIDESCO qualifications in Beauty, Body and Complementary Therapies at Waterford College of Further Education. Her career has since developed across beauty and body therapy, professional makeup, advanced skincare, laser and aesthetics, teaching and assessment, quality assurance, business development and leadership.
Teaching has been a significant part of Joanne's career since 2010. She holds professional qualifications in Education and Training, Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance and has taught across both private education and Further Education settings.
Her experience includes developing, coordinating, teaching and assessing internationally recognised qualifications, creating professional training programmes and supporting learners from entry level through to advanced professional education. Joanne's work in education has continued to develop through her role in External Authentication, further expanding her experience within assessment and quality assurance.
Joanne also holds qualifications in Leadership and Operational Management and Skin & Hair Science, alongside extensive specialist qualifications and training across professional skincare, advanced aesthetics, laser and light-based treatments. She remains actively involved in continued professional development, ensuring that her teaching reflects current industry practice, technologies, professional standards and emerging treatment trends.
As Lead Educator at Beautorium Training Academy, Joanne plays a central role in programme development, curriculum planning, quality assurance and the delivery of the academy's professional education. Under her direction, Beautorium has developed into a multi-award-winning training academy delivering VTCT Skills (ITEC) qualifications, AIT-accredited programmes, professional workshops, masterclasses, advanced practitioner pathways and bespoke industry training.
Her work extends beyond scheduled academy programmes. Joanne develops and delivers bespoke training for salons, spas, hotels, clinics and organisations, provides one-to-one business mentoring and consultancy, and delivers professional development across treatment education, client experience, business development, leadership, educator development and Internal Quality Assurance.
Joanne is passionate about bridging the gap between education and real industry practice. Through her continued work within Waterford Skin & Laser Clinic, she remains actively involved in professional skin and laser treatments, consultation, treatment planning and evolving technologies. This hands-on experience directly informs her teaching, with a strong emphasis on practical competence, critical thinking, client safety and preparing learners for the realities of professional practice.
Throughout her career, Joanne has contributed to the wider beauty industry through teaching, professional education, industry events, judging, guest speaking and media contributions. She has been recognised as a Business All-Star Thought Leader and has served as a judge for the Professional Hair & Beauty Awards, alongside receiving and being shortlisted for a number of business, education and industry awards.
Joanne's approach is centred on continuous development and raising professional standards within the industry. Whether teaching someone beginning their first qualification, supporting an experienced professional progressing into advanced treatments, working with fellow educators or developing bespoke training for an organisation, her focus remains on delivering relevant, practical and high-quality education.
Her philosophy continues to shape Beautorium Training Academy today: combining recognised qualifications, current industry knowledge, practical experience, strong teaching standards and ongoing learner support to help professionals build successful and sustainable careers within the beauty, skin and aesthetics industries.
Anna Prusak
Anna is one of Beautorium Training Academy's experienced Beauty, Holistic and Complementary Therapy Educators, bringing more than 10 years of professional industry experience to her teaching.
A graduate of Waterford College of Further Education, Anna holds internationally recognised ITEC, CIBTAC and CIDESCO qualifications across Beauty and Body Therapy, Facial Electrical Treatments, Film and Theatrical Make-Up, Microdermabrasion, Laser and IPL, alongside an extensive range of complementary and holistic therapy qualifications.
Her specialist holistic training includes Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Holistic Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Massage, On-Site Massage and Lymphatic Drainage Massage. Anna also holds an ITEC Diploma in Sports Massage, giving her an extensive knowledge base across both beauty and complementary therapies.
After developing her career as a Beauty and Spa Therapist, Anna progressed into teaching and completed the ITEC Diploma in Education and Training. Her combination of hands-on industry experience and professional teaching qualifications allows her to bring both practical knowledge and strong educational standards into the classroom.
At Beautorium, Anna teaches across a range of Beauty, Laser, Massage, Reflexology and Complementary Therapy programmes, supporting learners in developing both their theoretical knowledge and practical competence.
Anna is committed to continuous professional development and brings a thorough, supportive and detail-focused approach to her teaching. She places particular emphasis on helping learners refine their practical skills, build confidence and achieve the high professional standards expected within the beauty, spa and holistic therapy industries.
Sammy Stacey
Sammy Stacey is an experienced Beauty and Make-Up Educator with more than 15 years' experience within the beauty industry. An ITEC and CIBTAC qualified Beauty Specialist and professional Make-Up Artist, Sammy combines extensive hands-on industry experience with a strong creative background and a passion for professional education.
Sammy's career has spanned professional beauty therapy, make-up artistry and self-employment, with extensive experience working directly with clients across beauty and bridal make-up. Alongside her core beauty and make-up qualifications, she has continued to develop her skills through specialist training in areas including nail treatments, advanced waxing, lash lifting, tanning, Russian manicure and brow treatments.
Her professional development eventually led her into education, completing her ITEC Education and Training qualification and joining the teaching team at Beautorium Training Academy. Sammy brings her real-world experience into the classroom, helping learners develop not only strong practical skills but also the confidence and professional standards required to work successfully within the industry.
Alongside her beauty qualifications, Sammy holds a BA in Design and Visual Communications, giving her an additional creative perspective that complements her extensive experience in professional make-up artistry, branding and visual presentation.
Sammy is also highly experienced in social media and brand promotion and incorporates this commercial awareness into her teaching, helping students understand the importance of professional presentation and building their presence within today's beauty industry.
Her work as a professional Make-Up Artist and Beauty Specialist has received continued industry recognition, with Sammy Stacey Makeup & Beauty receiving nominations at the Hi Style Hair & Beauty Awards across multiple years.
At Beautorium, Sammy is known for her attention to detail, high practical standards and supportive teaching style. Her combination of professional beauty experience, creative expertise, teaching qualifications and continued involvement within the industry allows her to provide learners with practical, current and commercially relevant education.
Emily Scovell
Emily Scovell is the newest educator to join the Beautorium Training Academy team, bringing her experience as a qualified Skin and Aesthetics Practitioner and successful clinic owner into the classroom.
Emily is a CIDESCO, ITEC and QQI qualified, multi-award-winning Skin Therapist with extensive professional training across beauty, advanced skincare and aesthetics. Her career has developed from professional beauty and skin treatments into advanced aesthetics, with a strong focus on consultation, skin health, treatment planning and achieving natural-looking results.
Alongside her work as an educator, Emily is the founder of Lumora Beauty & Aesthetics, a professional skin and aesthetics clinic based in Waterford City. Through her continued clinical practice, Emily works across professional skincare, advanced skin treatments, chemical peels, laser hair removal and aesthetic treatments, allowing her to bring current, real-world industry experience directly into her teaching.
Emily is passionate about professional standards, client care and delivering treatments based on the individual needs of each client. Her approach combines technical knowledge with attention to detail, consultation and a strong understanding of the client experience.
As part of the Beautorium Training Academy education team, Emily brings current clinical experience and a fresh perspective to our Beauty, Skin and Aesthetics training, supporting learners in developing their practical skills, professional confidence and understanding of working successfully within today's industry.

Lorna Melay
Lorna Melay is an award-winning Beauty Educator and Advanced Skin Specialist with extensive experience across professional beauty, skincare, advanced aesthetics and education. In recognition of her work as an educator, Lorna was named Educator of the Year at the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2024 and was again selected as a finalist for Educator of the Year in 2026.
With more than 15 years' experience in the beauty industry, Lorna's career has included beauty and advanced skin practice, salon and retail management, professional education and specialist skincare roles. Her previous industry experience includes working as National Skin Analyst for Environ Skincare and Skin Consultant for The Skin Nerd.
Lorna is a qualified Beauty Specialist, Advanced Aesthetician, Make-Up Artist and Nail Technician and holds a professional qualification in Education and Training. Since moving into teaching, she has delivered professional beauty, skincare and make-up education, including internationally recognised ITEC programmes, and has developed a reputation for a supportive, practical and learner-focused approach to education.
Alongside her work as an educator, Lorna continues to work directly within the professional skin and aesthetics industry. She is the founder of Advanced Aesthetics Clinic & Apothecary in Bunclody, where her approach combines advanced, results-focused aesthetics with her longstanding interest in holistic skin health.
Lorna's expertise extends beyond traditional beauty and aesthetics. She is a Reiki Master, Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher and is continuing to expand her knowledge through herbal studies, bringing a distinctive holistic perspective to her understanding of skin, wellbeing and client care.
At Beautorium Training Academy, Lorna brings together extensive industry experience, advanced skin knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching. Her approach encourages learners to develop not only their practical skills but also their confidence, critical thinking and understanding of the skin and the individual client.
